filler | This 2200 square foot college center demonstrates sustainable processes and technologies to students and to the local community. Solar panels supply 80% of the building’s total energy use. No fossil fuels are used on site. Geo-exchange heating and cooling, day-lighting, waterless urinals, and energy thrifty building materials serve an instructional room, office and gallery. Outside, an organic garden shares space with a rain garden, evergreen windbreak, wind turbine, fruit trees, campus tree farm and demonstration permaculture plots. |
